Three International Conderences on Iron Ore and Steel Sectors

Sunday 1 January 2017

Three international conferences about steel and raw materials will be held in China and Dubai in March 2016 and May 2017. The conferences will be about iron ore, pellet and DRI.

The first conference will be held in Dalian, China on 22 and 23 February 2017.

It is the annual international conference of iron ore held by Metal Bulletin institute. This conference, which is held just following the long holidays of Chinese blossom festival, concentrates on Chinese new strategies and plans about infrastructural and construction projects with a considerable effect on the consumption rate of steel and iron ore in 2017.

Metal Bulletin iron ore conference, held from the end of February to March 1, is the second great and important iron ore conference across the world preceded only by the annual conference of Chinese Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

CISA conference is always held at the end of September and before the long holidays, starting from the first day of October. Dalian will host this conference for the first time.

In previous years, the conference was being held in Beijing, China. Obviously, this conference is a good opportunity for the better understanding of market situation in 2017 on which organizational strategies are set.
The second conference will be held in April 2017.

It is the 3rd conference of pellet and raw materials for steel-making industry of MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). It will be held by Metal Export in Dubai on 11 and 12 April.

The following items will be reviewed in this conference: long-term decreasing trend seen in MENA ingot market, the trend and prospect of Egypt pellet market, the likelihood of the return of Chinese suppliers to the Middle East region in the event of the adjustment and correction of the global prices of steel products replacing imported long steel products by local products the status of pellet market during the improvement and growth of steel price in the region the prospect of exporting pellet with Iran as the origin the role of importing scraps due to the increased demand for scraps and the prospect of importing HBI products to the Middle East region from Venezuela and Malaysia (the majority of the steel-makers of this region supply their raw materials, except scraps, from HBI).

The third conference will be held in Dubai on 26 and 27 April with the cooperation of Metal Bulletin Institute. It will be the 5th international conference of DRI and pellet.

This conference is important for Iran in that Iran has become self-sufficient in the fields of DRI and pellet and will introduce its growing potential in exporting such products to the region and the world in future years.

The notable matter is that Mr. Keyvan Jafari Tehrani, the Head of the international affairs of Iranian Iron Ore Producers & Exporters Association will attend the aforementioned three conferences as a Keynote Speaker.
