Brazil, the world’s second-largest Semi finished exporter, has exported about 530,000 MT Billets in September 2017, recent released data by Brazilian customs reported.
The exports have declined by 14.51% M-o-M in Sep’17 against 620,000 MT in Aug’17. During Sep’17, United States has imported approximately 30.18% (160,000 MT) billets from Brazil.
Coming to total exports in CY2017 (Jan-Sep), the data shows about 5.41 MnT billet exports, surged by 18.12% against 4.58 MnT in the same preceding CY2016.
Further, on yearly calculation the billet exports were reported around 6.25 MnT in CY2016 & at 6.90MnT in CY2015.
With considering steel demand globally, the crude steel production of country was marked at 30.21 MnT in 2016.
Meanwhile, in 2017 (Jan’17-Aug’17) the figure of crude steel production stood at 22.54 MnT Country wise:
During September 2017, the largest importer of Brazilian originated billet was United States (0.16 MnT), Germany (0.08 MnT) & Turkey (0.06 MnT).
