Member of directorate of Iron Ore Producers and Exporters Association of Iran said that Iran is the fifth largest exporter of iron ore to China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A member of directorate of Iron Ore Producers and Exporters Association of Iran Keyvan Jafari Tehrani said, \u201cIran is the fifth largest exporter of iron ore to China while Australia is the first.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChina, in addition to being the world’s largest steel manufacturer, is the world’s first iron ore market as well and Iran, Australia, South Africa and Brazil are among countries which export iron ore to China,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He pointed to the drop in iron ore prices in the world market and said, \u201cthe drop in price is agreed upon by China and Australia; they are the ones who create this situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEach ton of iron ore comes at $80 for Australia, but it distributes it in the market at $45 per ton,\u201d said Jafari Tehrani.<\/p>\n

Last year, Iran\u2019s total production of iron ore came at 49 million tons, 24 million tons of which were exported at the worth of less than two billion dollars.<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that China has absorbed over 90 percent of Iran\u2019s exported iron ore in the last years.<\/p>\n

According to Jafari Tehrani, iron ore market experts believe that after the holidays in China (on the occasion of China\u2019s National Day), the iron ore market will have a tendency toward an increase in prices from October 2 onwards.<\/p>\n

Chador Malu (Yazd), Gol Gohar (Kerman), Markazi (Kerman), and Sangan (Khorasan) are the largest iron mines in Iran.<\/p>\n
