Around 70 percent of private iron ore mines in Iran shut in the past two years due to the market rout, Tehrani said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x1 pg-1h5 pg-1y1b pg-1ff3 pg-1fs5 pg-1fc2 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We also heard some Malaysian cargoes being quoted in the market which we haven&#8217;t seen in a while,&#8221; said a Shanghai-based iron ore trader.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-1m0 pg-1x1 pg-1h5 pg-1y1b pg-1ff3 pg-1fs5 pg-1fc2 pg-1sc0 pg-1ls0 pg-1ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pageli\" data-reactid=\".5.2.0.0.$966=15294117647062.0.$row-1\">\n<div id=\"pf2\" class=\"page-outer-wrapper\" data-reactid=\".5.2.0.0.$966=15294117647062.0.$row-1.0\">\n<div class=\"page-inner-wrapper\" data-reactid=\".5.2.0.0.$966=15294117647062.0.$row-1.0.0\">\n<div id=\"pg-2pf2\" class=\"pf pg-2w0 pg-2h0\">\n<div class=\"pc pg-2pc2 pg-2w0 pg-2h0\">\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y0 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;If the price is right there&#8217;s a market for them,&#8221; added the trader, who is keen on buying some cargoes from Indian suppliers that have become active in the market in recent weeks as prices climbed.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y3 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">India used to be a major iron ore exporter to China until court-imposed mining curbs in a crackdown on illegal extraction halted shipments. Mining in the western Goa state, India&#8217;s top iron ore exporter, resumed in October after a three-year gap.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y6 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">But Goan miners say a 20-million tonne annual production cap will limit any benefit from strong prices. Shipments from Goa reached about 50 million tonnes in 2010\/11, during iron ore&#8217;s boom years when it reached nearly $200 a tonne.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y9 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y9 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MINERS WARY<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y9 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The price rise is a boost for existing miners such as global giants Rio Tinto RIO.AXRIO.L and BHP Billiton BHP.AXBLT.L, where every one dollar a tonne price hike over a year is worth roughly $250 million, according to UBS. But small miners say it is too early to restart idled output.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2ye pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;It&#8217;s not easy to turn mines on and off. If you&#8217;ve demobilized staff and equipment, it&#8217;s no easy feat to suddenly bring it all back, particularly in the absence of real proof these prices are sustainable,&#8221; said an executive for a smaller-sized Australian iron ore company.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y11 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lower ore grade producers, such as Malaysia, are under more pressure and say the rally needs to go further.<\/div>\n<div class=\"t pg-2m0 pg-2x0 pg-2h1 pg-2y13 pg-2ff1 pg-2fs0 pg-2fc0 pg-2sc0 pg-2ls0 pg-2ws0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;When iron ore was at $80, low grade iron ore could fetch around $60.
