Russian iron Ore Export Up 33% in Jul’17

The 8th largest exporter of iron ore, Russia has exported around 1.56 MnT iron ore in Jul’17, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.

Iron ore exports have witnessed an increase of 33% M-o-M as it was 1.17 MnT in Jun’17.

Compared with the numbers for the month of Jul’16 the Russia’s iron ore exports were up by 11% Y—o-Y as well which were at 1.41 MnT then.

In the first seven first of seven months of 2017 Russia exported 12.07 MnT iron ore 17% up compared to 10.35 MnT in the same period last year.

In Jun’17, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 1.29 MnT, up by 93% M-o-M, however up by 231% Y-o—Y compared to Jul’16.

The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 0.26 MnT, down by 48% M-o-M & 75% Y-o-Y compared to Jul’16.

Country-wise Iron Ore Exports

Russia iron ore exports were chiefly directed to Turkey followed by Ukraine, Germany and others in Jul’17.

Russian exports to Turkey were recorded at 0.25 MnT, Ukraine 0.16 MnT and Germany 0.16 MnT etc.
