Iran’s KSC Concludes Slab Export Tender – Sources

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) – Iran’s largest steel exporter had invited tender for 40,000 MT slab for end October shipment. The prime concast steel slab offered was of grade SS400 and/or SAE 1008 and 8235. Bid submission due date for the same is 22 Sept’17 at 18:00 hrs as per Iranian local time.

According to market sources report to SteelMint, the company has concluded the tender at around USD 500/MT, FoB.

KSC exported more than 1.22 MnT steel in first five months of Iranian FY18 (starting 21 March), up by 81% Y-o-Y. KSC exports steel to 13 countries. Around 50% of its steel exports have been shipped to Middle East and North African region, followed by far east countries which contribute nearly 40% share in KSC steel exports. Remaining quantities have been exported to America.

Slab export offers in global market move down

-Amid weakening global sentiments and fall in global steel prices, slab export offers have also come down. Export offers from CIS nations have fallen to USD 490-520/MT, FoB Black Sea against last week’s assessment of USD 520-540/ MT, FoB.
