Iran: Butia Iranian Steel’s New Pellet Plant to Commence Production Next Month

According to sources report to SteelMint, pellet plant of Butia Iranian Steel Company (Limited) – a steelmaker from Iran, is already under trial operations since April. The sources informed that the actual production have been planned to begin next month. Trial run for the same has already been completed in Apr‘17.

Its one of the subsidiary companies of Middle East Mines & Minerals (MIDHCO).

As per the reports the company has decided to install a direct pelletizing plant with a capacity of 2.5 MnT pa pellets along with accessory units.

As per the sources the facility with a USD 1.2 billion investment will play a significant role in regional development with creation of employment, boost up local production-consumption ration. With added value it will expand the production chain in Iran which is very much needed in countries steel product range.

The design, manufacturing and delivery of these 2 production units are planned as an EPC in an 80 acres area. Reports say that the large transportation of the raw materials and products will be carried out through the connection to the national railway network.

The project site is in Kerman, 27th Km Beltway of Imam Reza (near the village of Karimabad, Chatroud area).

The valuable project is expected to develop the ecosystem of the area in addition to technology transfer and localization of manufacturing science and industry, the direct employment of about 2,100 workmen (line and staff) and nearly 2,600 people indirectly is estimated through the operations.
