Trade statistics released by the fourth largest iron ore exporter Ukraine customs show that the iron ore exports by the country were down by 3% in Jun’17.
The country exported around 3.58 MnT iron ore in Jun’17 against 3.7 MnT in May’17. The country’s exports however were up 20% Y-o-Y for the month of Jun as the corresponding month previous year Ukraine had recorded the exports of 2.99 MnT iron ore.
For the first six months of 2017 Ukraine exported 6% down quantity with 19.31 MnT iron ore against the quantity of 20.63 MnT for the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) exports in Jun’1 7 were registered at 2.23 MnT, down by 14% compared to May’17 which were at 2.6 MnT.
However, it was up 24% Y-o-Y for the month of Jun compared to last year, as it was 1.8 MnT then. The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports in Jun’17 were registered at 1.35 MnT up by 21% compared to May’17 which was at 1.10 MnT and up 13% Y—o—Y compared to Jun’16 as it was 1.20 MnT. The largest importer of Ukrainian iron ore is China.
