Ukraine, one of the largest semi finished exporter, has exported about 450,000 MT billet in June 2017, according to trade statistics released by department state statistics service of Ukraine.
The exports registered a downfall of 26.22% M-o-M in Jun’17 against 610,000 MT in May’17. During Jun’17, Italy has imported approximately more than 30% (140,000 MT) billets from Ukraine.
Further, in H1 CY17 (Jan- Jun), the country’s total export for billet was at an around 3.05 MnT.
With rising country’s steel demand in globe, the crude steel production also marked a hike by 5.48% to 24.23 MnT in 2016 against 22.97 MnT in 2015. Meanwhile, in 2017 (Jan’17-Jun’17) the figure of crude steel production stood at 10.96 MnT.
Country wise:
During June 2017, the largest importer of Ukrainian originated billet was Italy & Turkey which imports about 140,000 MT & 90,000 MT, respectively.
Similarly, in the total billet exports during 2017 (Jan- Jun), the major buyers of Ukrainian billet was — Italy (28.27%), Turkey (19.86%) & Egypt (14.05%).

1. The export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 500-505/MT FoB India, 125*125 BSP at USD 500/MT FoB Ukraine &150*150 0235 are at USD 525-530/MT FoB China.
2. As per the sources, Last week few deals are concluded to Turkey by Ukrainian exporter at USD 490- 500/MT FoB Black & Azov Sea.
