During the first seven months of CY17 (Jan-Jul’17), Turkey’s crude steel production stood at 21.60 MnT Up 14%, compared with 19 MnT in the corresponding period of CY16.
The crude steel production from electric arc furnaces (EAFs) totalled 14.81 MnT in Jan-Jul’17, up by 18.8% Y-O-Y. However, output from blast furnaces was 6.75 MnT in the same period, up by 3.75% Y-O-Y.
In Jul”17, Turkey produced 3.34 MnT of crude steel, up by 28% Y-O-Y and up 11% M-O-M.
Country’s billet production reached 14.71 MnT with a rise of 9.31% from 13.46 MnT a year earlier however, slab production stood at 6.85 MnT, up by 24.15% against 5.52 MnT in Jan-Jul’17.
