Iran: Bulk Iron Ore Exports Down 11% in Oct’17

According to the data maintained by SteelMint Iran exported 1.78 MnT iron ore via bulk shipments in Oct’17 were 11% down M-o-M against 2 MnT in Sept’17.

China bulk iron ore imports from Iran fell in Oct’17

China remains the largest importer of Iran iron ore for the month Oct’17 with 91% share and imported 1.62 MnT compared to 1.96 MnT in Sept’17. Other major importers of Iranian iron ore were Malaysia 0.12 MnT, Russia 0.04 MnT and others 0.1 MnT.

According to the United States Geological Survey, Iran has holds 10th largest iron ore reserves.

With new mines opening up, Iran’s iron ore production is increasing this fiscal. According to released data by IMIDRO, Iran’s iron ore production was recorded at 9.266 MnT in first half of Iranian fiscal (21 Mar-22 Sept). Volume of iron ore export shipments have grown 9% Y-o-Y.
